Support Groups
St. Vincent Healthcare is dedicated to supporting you and your loved one's spiritual and emotional well-being during your cancer journey. We are proud to offer cancer support groups to those who are currently undergoing cancer treatment, those who have completed cancer treatment and also for the family and friends that have been a constant source of support throughout the process.
Support groups present information, provide comfort, teach coping skills, reduce anxiety and provide a place for people to share common concerns and offer emotional support. Evidence shows that support groups can improve quality of life for people with cancer. The scientific community believes that support groups can enhance quality of life for people who have cancer by providing information and support to overcome feelings of aloneness and helplessness which may result from a cancer diagnosis. Research has shown people diagnosed with cancer are better able to deal with their disease when supported by others in similar situations.
All St. Vincent Healthcare cancer support groups are complimentary, as well as confidential.
